FDA, DTI Team Up to Streamline Supply Chain for MSMEs

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) are joining forces to improve supply chain processes and enhance support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines.

In a recent statement, the FDA highlighted its coordination with the DTI’s Supply Chain and Logistics Group (SCLG) to address logistical barriers affecting products under FDA regulation.

This effort falls under the “Bigyang-halaga, Bangon MSMEs” initiative, which aims to provide technical assistance, simplified authorization processes, and other resources to help local businesses grow. It includes faster access to licenses to operate (LTOs) and product registration certificates.

FDA Director General Samuel Zacate emphasized that the partnership shows a shared commitment to public health, consumer safety, and inclusive economic development.

Meanwhile, DTI Undersecretary Mary Jean Pacheco reiterated the SCLG’s goal to ensure the smooth flow of goods across the country. She noted that this collaboration helps ensure public health products reach consumers without unnecessary delays, while also improving trade efficiency and economic stability.
